Challenging The Church #2.5: Usury & Interest
Usury - all usury - is banned by Christian doctrine, as it is by Muslim doctrine.
But yet Christians still take out mortgages, finance cars, get credit cards, etc. Why not just admit you're an atheist who is culturally Christian? Why pretend to believe something that you live in opposition of on a daily basis?
Genuinely curious, not trying to argue. I just don't get it. It's totally acceptable in American society to be an atheist, but people still insist they believe in the holy book that they don't follow. . . Religion might as well be dead in the West. Nobody actually lives by it anyway it seems.
